What is

Physical Therapy and WHY do I need it?

PHYSICAL THERAPY is a way of healing and rehabilitating the body after an injury or surgery. Physical therapy can also help prevent surgery, as well as isolated overuse muscle, tendon, or joint injuries. Our treatment process begins with listening to our patients and fully understanding their needs. We then develop a tailored program to maximize results. A key component of our process is helping our patients learn about their bodies and why we believe our prescribed treatments will be effective. We observe the body as a whole chain of moving parts that need optimal mobility and strength to move efficiently without pain.

Our physical therapists, Katie and Kristi, have a ton of experience in sports medicine orthopedics working in busy clinics with lots of volume but wanted to break free of that environment to work with patients one-on-one. Seeing the value in connection, there's a deeper impact that can be made in an intimate setting. That's why BBK is a mobile clinic - we come to your house to focus on your care without external distractions.

With our patience and thoughtfulness paired with our extensive education (with 2 Doctorates, 2 Bachelor of Science degrees, multiple certifications, as well as instructor experience between K+K), let us help you heal and stay healthful!

What is Yoga and WHY do I need it?

YOGA is a physical, mental, and spiritual practice that helps to control and still the mind. It will help you connect to your body, improve your posture and alignment, and breathe better. Yoga asana is the collection of poses of the practice, which are typically put together into a yoga asana sequence. In the sequence, a pose is held for a period of time or the student transitions or “flows” more quickly from pose to pose. 

Our instructors, Katie and Rebecca, are both 200-hour registered yoga teachers who follow general alignment principles designed to keep joints safe from injury and enhance specific muscle groups to be strengthened or stretched.

Yoga offers a chance to disconnect from the external stimuli in life (people, devices, noises, traffic) and connect with your body, breath, and thoughts - which everyone could benefit from in our fast-paced society. Your practice can take place in a class setting with many people, however the connection is an individual effort. K+R teach in group settings as well individually, both in-person and online, to provide you with the option that best fits your lifestyle!

What is Reiki and WHY do I need it?

REIKI is a Japanese healing technique that promotes stress reduction and relaxation. A Reiki treatment is administered by the practitioner facilitating the flow of life force energy, also known as prana, qi or ki, to work with your energy centers (chakras) to promote deep healing. If one’s life force energy is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.

Our Reiki Master, Rebecca, is Usui Reiki (oldest lineage) level I, II, and Master certified and is anticipating her Master Teacher certification later this year. She works with the whole person, resulting in many beneficial effects including feelings of relaxation, relief, wellbeing and inner peace. Treatments may be in-person in the comfort of your own home or distant and are also offered in conjunction with physical therapy to heal deeper wounds below the physical surface. 

Reiki supports patients with their energy and mindset. There's a lot that goes on when there's injury, pain, or trauma - not only physically, but mentally and emotionally as well. We can help you to uncover and unblock stagnant energy that may be keeping you from healing fully and thriving in the life of your dreams!

Our GOAL is to help you feel grounded and safe in your body so you can be present in your healing journey and balanced physically, mentally, and emotionally!

We do this by combining physical therapy + yoga + Reiki so that you receive a holistic approach to your health, supported by the custom plan that we recommend based on your needs.
